Physics is the fundamental science that studies matter and bodies around us, their states, motion, and energy. The laws of physics are deduced through observation and practical experiments expressed through models and mathematical formulas.
In this article, we’ll explain how to quickly understand and learn physics for high school students and successfully pass independent testing.
How do I Learn Physics from Scratch?
If you have 2-3 months to prepare, starting by reading and assimilating theoretical material is recommended. It can be divided into five sections:
– molecular physics;
– electrodynamics and electrostatics.
Work through these sections individually, learning the basic formulas and then the specific ones. In addition, you need to memorize all the important constants, which will enable you to solve practical problems.
Once you have learned the physics of a particular phenomenon, in theory, you can begin solving simple problems first, gradually moving on to more complex ones.
Try also to take as many tests as possible to strengthen your knowledge, learn to understand the questions, grasp the specifics of the tasks, and ways to apply the laws and formulas.
If you are limited to one month to successfully prepare for the tests, you should:
– make a table of basic formulas and learn them;
– abandon the practice of simple tasks, devoting more time to complex topics;
– memorize the values of fundamental quantities and the rules for translating them;
– Repeat the fundamental laws and formulas regularly, even if you haven’t memorized the more complex ones.
How to Understand and Learn Physics at Home?
You can, of course, learn this subject at home on your own, but unfortunately, you are unlikely to achieve great results. It is quite another matter – individual training or classes with a tutor of physics, who will pay attention not only to theory but also explain and demonstrate the acquired knowledge in practice. Since learning physics with a tutor without the practical aspect is equivalent to mastering it on your own.
If you do not know how to study physics independently, we advise you to try differential learning, in which you look at school and home with a tutor. In this case, your knowledge of the subject will be more profound, practical knowledge – an order of magnitude higher.
More or less stable qualitative results with this approach can be obtained in about a year, and you will notice the first changes after a month. During this time, it is pretty realistic to master basic concepts and understand the fundamental physical phenomena and their manifestations in everyday life. With a competent tutor who knows how to learn physics quickly, science will begin to come alive for you and become as straightforward as possible. You won’t achieve this by cramming on your own.
An in-depth understanding and study of physics is a rather long journey that can only be shortened with help and hard daily work. The more you learn, the easier the subsequent topics will be for you.
